  Latest news on Lee Westwood
Lee teeing off from the 1st at 1200 with Philip Price, shot a not to be sniffed at round of 69, with an eagle at the 12th and a birdie at 15 taking him to 3 under par and finishing in T8th position for the day.
Lee got back to one down, but at the 17th he clipped the trees when he pulled his drive and, although lucky to rebound into the clear, he had to hook his second which he overdid so badly that the shot flew out of bounds.
Lee said that it was a repetitive strain injury (possibly a result of all his recent practice) and that he fully expects to be playing in the Omega European Masters in Switzerland 6-9 September.

LEE WESTWOOD: Yeah, you play your practice rounds and you can tell where the flags are going to be and so it's just a great golf course for people who manage their game well and are good at course management, it pays off.
LEE WESTWOOD: I played behind him the first couple of days and he's in a lot of fairways; that obviously makes a massive difference.
LEE WESTWOOD: Yeah, you go about your approach the same way, but you have to adapt the way you think on the golf course for the conditions and the type of golf course it is. You can't approach this golf course like you approach a golf course in Florida that's playing soft.

Westwood makes no secret of his love for being home with his family on his sprawling estate in Worksop, and when he and Laurae were expecting their first child in April of last year, he barely practiced or played for four months and skipped the Masters.
But the most logical root of Westwood's problems is the same as the one that afflicted the unfortunates who came before him: He tried to get better.
On the par-5 17th, Westwood pushed his drive into weeds, whacked his second into a cross bunker, barely got the third out and then hit a poor pitch from 80 yards short of the green.
