  North Atlantic Skyline: Raindrops keep falling on my head
One of the questions at the Galway Camera Club table quiz was "If two rainbows appear together, are the colours of the second one in reverse order; True or False?" Our table got that question wrong, and I got drenched learning the answer the hard way yesterday morning.

Leenaun is perched over Killary Harbour on the very western edge of Connemara, close to the Mayo border.
While the smaller number in families is a factor in the drop in numbers in Lawrencetown and in Leenaun, it is only part of the story, particularily in west Connemara; a lack of jobs locally and bad roads and infrastucture have crippled the area.
Lawrencetown, Moycullen and Leenaun are only three school areas across the county, but they probably tell their own lessons.

The drive from Clifden to Leenaun along the N59 has been through an all-enveloping mist hiding the mountains and nullifying the dramatic impact of our first glimpse of Killary Harbour.
I'm tempted to say that this sequence of corners by itself makes the drive along the R336/R345 worthwhile for any keen motorist but that would be unfair.
From Leenaun to Clonbur the road is well worth seeking out.

Starting from Oughterard, the trail follows the western edge of Lough Corrib before breaking away across the Maumturks chain at the pass of Maumeen.
It decends to the Inagh Valley along the base of the "Turks", following them around to Leenaun at the head of Killary Harbour fjord.
From Leenaun, the Mayo section of the trail climbs over Sheefry Bridge, then down into Westport, then on through Newport, Sheskin, Ballycastle, Killala, Ballina, ending at Lough Talt in the Ox Mountains near the Sligo border.
