The Leerans are a fictional race of aliens from the Animorphs series by K.A. Applegate.
They are described as a yellow amphibian species with tentacles for arms that resembles a manta ray or frog.
They live in the vast oceans on their homeworld, Leera, which has only one small continent of land (originally, Leerans needed to go on land to mate, but technology now makes that unnecessary).
Leerans also have a large head, with large, brilliant green eyes and a wide, grinning mouth; the head does not rest on the shoulders directly, without a neck.
Leerans are more comfortable in water and build their "cities" there.
The Leerans use a thought-speech-like system to communicate; it is called thought-speech-like and not thought-speech only because Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill's account of the Leerans' communication was that this was a more basic, less complex thought conveyance, that seemed to run deeper than ordinary thought-speech.

Flanked by Leeran on his left, and Baraniel to his right, the time had come for the men of Diligence to banish this hellspawn from the face of Norrath, forever.
Leeran nodded, as he carefully played a soothing song to lessen the extent of Ragaroth's anguish.
Leeran ran as fast as his legs could carry him across the steppes of the Plane of Fire.
Soon Dame Sim and her pilot were fighting back laughter and the Leeran was watching the happy-go-lucky expression of an ignorant child in the body of a young-adult, about to head into a battle scene.
The Leeran’s were surprised at the openness of the human’s mind, as well as the strange sense of gentle uncaring towards the Andalite tail blades and the shredder.
For a brief amount of time the Leeran was able to see into the memory of the Astral Yeerk, and see as she did.
Leerans have big heads with no necks, and an outward curving face.
The Leeran species lives on a water planet, called Leera, were they are the sentinent race.
The planet Leera used to have one small continent, which really was of no use to the Leerans or any inhabitants of Leera and only surved as a base for the Yeerks.
Militants killed a Government school teacher by slitting her throat and beat up her husband at Leeran near Darhal in Rajouri district, police said today.
Three militants, led by the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Pir Panjal Regiment Commander, Tahir Malik, entered the house of Mohammad Hussain (36) late at night, beat him up and his wife Hamida Begum (30), before killing her.
Hamida was recently transferred from a Government school at Leeran and posted near Rajouri town due to threats from militants.

the Leerans are mind-readers, and the Animorphs know the Yeerks must fail the Leeran invasion, or the Yeerks will know that the're humans.
He also tells Marco that Visser One, who stole away the body of Marco's mother to become its host (the full story of how/why is later told in the series in the book Visser) is overseeing the project.
The most serious problem is it involves an aquatic race called Leerans, which are physic, and if these mind reading aliens are able to be taken in force as hosts, all will be lost for the humanAnimorphs.
=P) and it would not be surprising as leerans like to create creatures based on legends, they could care less about the legends themselves, just enjoy the challenge of creating them.
But I guess I have been wanting to finish some of my art, so here is this one, as done as it will ever be.
So yeah, Leeran done in color pencil on some kind of paper.

Which reminds me, I want to get Four Swords Adventures-- Best Buy and GamePro are giving away mini video game magazines that have news and a coupon with $5 off a few GC games.
Leeran, I don't think you need a map, it just makes it a whole lot easier.
