	Canada Atlantic Railway Elgin Street Station
		At Ottawa, Shanly originally drew a plan on 16 February 1882, (RG46 volume 1476 file 16558-1), to bring the line well south of Lees Avenue through Ottawa East and then to across Main Street and the Canal at an angle, continuing north up Elgin Street as far as Gilmour or MacLaren.
		A wye south of Catherine Street would lead westward to a track for turning trains, and continue to the Chaudière, all the way to the Union Bridge to Hull.
		The final plan, however, kept the line north of Lees Avenue and crossed the Canal on the present east-west line of the Queensway on a swing bridge (or "drawbridge").

		I am not the sort who enjoys taking pictures of dog shit but this one cried out to be photographed.
		Shot on the Hurdman pedestrian bridge just off Lees Avenue, this little poo was one of several in a close grouping, all liberally studded with turquoise glitter.
		One might try to picture a dog walker sprinkling fairy dust on her doggie's crap to somehow make it less offensive (bagging is always an alternative.) To me, however, this looks like a case of the naughty dog who knocked a bottle of glitter onto the bathroom floor and then lapped it up.
