The stock delivery of a leg spin bowler (leg spinner) is the leg break, and is bowled by using the wrist to spin the ball anti-clockwise at the point of delivery.
away from the leg side of a right-handed batsman, which is the origin of the name "leg spin".
Good leg spin bowlers are also able to bowl deliveries that behave unexpectedly, including the googly, which turns the opposite way to a normal leg break, and the topspinner, which doesn't deviate significantly.

The leg side, or on side, is defined to be a particular half of the field used to play the sport of cricket.

Limb Length Discrepency   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
The general consensus in the literature is that compensations occur to lengthen the short leg and to shorten the long leg.
Due to these compensations, the shorter leg may be prone to stress fractures due to the non-shock absorbing nature of the supinated foot.
Likewise, the long leg may be prone to knee pain and medial structure strain due to the internal rotation of the tibia because of pronation (Boyd and Bogdan, 1997).

Definitions for Skating Leg Motions -- Roberts
The first push (here called the in-push) is directed inward across toward the other leg's side, then the second push (here called the main-push) with the same leg is directed outward toward its own side.
This is the only kind of leg push used in normal-push stroking, and it's also used in double-push stroking (where it's the second push made by each leg without interruption by a push by the other leg).
This kind of push is used in double-push stroking, where it is the first push made by each leg without interruption by a push by the other leg.

Allen says that the pain caused by short leg syndrome is usually located at or near the SI joint (or lumbar area) on the long leg side because this side has to work harder and therefore strains more easily.
Position the patient on the table with their short leg side up and in a lumbar roll-type position (see figures 1 through 5.) Put your thrusting elbow/forearm just caudad to their greater trochanter so that the mostly transverse rotatory thrusting force will help to posteriorly rotate (counter-rotate) the ilium on that side.
Then have the patient turn with the long leg side up and do the same technique, except that your thrusting elbow/forearm is placed just cephalad to their greater trochanter so that the ilium on the long leg side with be anteriorly rotated (counter-rotated.) Also, the patient’s legs are placed parallel on the table.

Slowly roll the ball to the left and lower your body until your waist and hip are resting firmly against the ball.
If you are used to doing side leg lift lying on the floor, you will notice that this exercise is harder to perform.
That's because of the angle that the exercise is performed, which increases the range of motion of the lifting leg.

In short, we expect the rectus femoris and sartorius muscles to be relatively firmer on the side of the PI ilium, thus raising the foot relative to the contralateral foot, for the same reason that resisted knee extension, by tensing the quadriceps muscles, raises the foot.
On the side where the paper is easier to withdraw, the relatively increased quadriceps/sartorius tone has slightly raised the distal thigh, diminishing its contact against the paper on the table.
the Derifield pelvic leg check in essence identifies the side of the body wherein lies the primary pathology: the PI ilium on the short leg side of the D+ patient, and (usually) the AS side of the long leg side of the D- patient.
