The Rev, Legh Richmond was the Rector of Turvey and a pencil inscription notes that he died in 1827.
Richmond (1772-1827) was an evangelical churchman whose experience performing a funeral at his church on the Isle of Wight was the basis for this book, a bestseller in its day with over two million copies sold in six languages and 22 editions published in the US between 1813 -1820.

Seeley stood in second place for much of the day behind early front-runner Matt Dixon (Santa Monica, Calif.) Seeley overtook Dixon late in the bike and held the lead throughout 25 miles of the marathon, before being passed by Legh in the home stretch.
The win was the second of Legh's long Ironman career, as the Australian standout also won the Ironman California triathlon back in 2000.
