Legio II Traiana Fortis: one of the Roman legions.
It is possible that II Traiana Fortis was the first garrison of the new province, together with III Cyrenaica.
Half a century later, a subunit of II Traiana Fortis made the same trip to the far west, when the emperor Gallienus (260-268) demanded its support against Postumus, the ruler of the independent Gallic Empire.

 Legio II Parthica
Legio I Parthica: one of the Roman legions.
II Parthica certainly fought against the Parthians in 214-217, because it is known that its commander was involved in the murder of Caracalla and the succession of the commander of the imperial guard,
However, the soldiers of II Parthica knew that their relatives at Alba could be used as hostages by the senatorial emperors, and killed the legitimate ruler of the Roman empire at Aquileia.

Legio III Diocletiana was a Tetrarchic creation of Diocletian's in 296 AD, likewise stationed in Alexandria, but it too had been sent south by the time of the Notitia's compilation; it was based in Thebes.
Legio II Flavia Constantia Thebaeorum seems to be another Tetrarchic creation, named after Maximianus' Caesar, Constantius.
Creation under the young Valentinian II is a possibility (375-392), but unlikely given he was in the west, and until 383 was very much a minor influence under Gratian (and there are already seemingly too few units named after Gratian), while from 379 the Eastern Augustus was the more vigorous Theodosius.
