But there was little he could do about it -- like virtually all other comic creators of the day, he sold the rights to his character to the company, and they had the legal right to do whatever they wished.
According to DC Comics, the company's official history, Siegel rarely talked about the shoddy treatment he and his partner received at the hands of their former employer.

There still weren't many female characters who were the solo stars of their own books, but they had gone from just girlfriends and sidekicks, to partners, team members and team leaders.
During the grim and gritty 80's, the many of the women turned dark as well, becoming dangerous femme fatale characters that once had been reserved for the villainesses, the dark nemesises of the heroes of comics early age.
At the same time, though, not all the women in comics turned into Bad Girls, and many of the remainder, heirs to the same traditions and subject to the same trends that drove their sisters Bad, became solid characters on their own.

This stable of characters, along with Fawcett's line of humor, romance, action and horror comics made the company extremely competitive and often ran neck-and-neck with DC Comics as the most popular and prosperous comic publishers of the 1940's.
However, the popularity of superhero comics began to wane in the early 1950's and in 1953, Fawcett conceded and settled the lawsuit with DC out-of-court.

Gerry Conway - Marvel Universe - A Wikia wiki
He is best known for co-creating the Marvel Comics vigilante The Punisher (with artist Ross Andru) and scripting the death of the character Gwen Stacy during his long run on The Amazing Spider-Man.
Conway succeeded Marv Wolfman as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics in mid-1976, but held the job only briefly, relinquishing the post before the year was out and succeeded in turn by Archie Goodwin.
For a time, a confluence of publishing schedules resulted in Conway stories appearing in both Marvel and DC comics in the same month: The prolific Conway's comic books with January 1977 cover-dates alone, for example, are Marvel's The Avengers, The Defenders, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, The Spectacular Spider-Man and the premiere issues of Ms.

Ra's Al Ghul has the right air of menace and preparation, while the Legion has the right level of power to seem able to deal with it but not easily, and the scope of the threat is truly enormous.
He also does some great work in spotlighting various characters by having them outside the panels proper, and in general has a storytelling approach that is easy to follow but definitely unconventional.

His best-known are probably Everyman Richard Rory, who has appeared off and on in most of the Gerber books, and the Foolkiller, a psychopathic vigilante who inspired several different individuals to adopt his identity over the years and acquired his own 10-issue limited series in 1990.
He was one of the founders of the Ultraverse, co-creating Exiles (perhaps the first comic in which a superhero team's incompetence has been played for tragedy rather than comedy) and creating Sludge.

MTVNews.com: Music Geek: When Comics And Rock Collide
Avoiding TV soundtracks or film adaptations of comics (there's too many, and I'd bust a blood vessel fuming over how awful most of them are), here's a short history of records that have attempted to capture the essence of comic book characters through the years.
In 1994, industrial band Trust Obey's "Fear and Bullets," a soundtrack to the comic book "The Crow," was a bit overshadowed by that character's movie adaptation's soundtrack that same year.
In the 1980s, the alternative-comics and indie-rock scenes were practically intertwined: Comic books such as the Hernandez brothers' "Love and Rockets" and Peter Bagge's "Hate" were suffused with a punk-rock aesthetic (those artists and many others also designed lots of record covers for bands).

Ken's comic sometimes features what are called 'complete western novelettes', or, in the case of issue #7, 'a complete western serial'; this one, with the intriguing title 'The Seven Wonders of the West'.
This is partly due to the timeframe involved, as comics didn't really hit their stride until the end of the 30s, some years after McCoy's generation of cowboy stars had peaked.
At that point Fawcett left the comic business, but Hoppy was popular enough to be picked up by National Periodical Publications (commonly known as DC Comics) the most important comics company of the time, starting with issue #86 in early 1954 and continuing through issue #135 in 1959.
