Northampton County included what are now the counties of: "Northampton, Lehigh, Carbon, Monroe, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike, Sullivan, Wyoming, and Susquehanna and part of the counties of Schuylkill, Columbia, Lycoming, and Bradford." (Southern Bethlehem Semi-Centennial: Souvenir History 1865-1915 article by P.J. Hall - pg.
Whitfield invited the Moravians to settle on his land that was "almost identical with the present Upper Nazareth Township." Before the end of 1740, Whitfield had an argument with some of the Moravians and he forced them off his land.
The Moravians decided to purchase their own land on the South Side of the Lehigh River in order to distance themselves from any neighbors not practicing the same religion as they did.

The death and burial of Andreas Kuechlein was reported by Rev. Jacob C. Becker, who served congregations at Christ Church, Shoenersville, in Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co. and at Zion (Stone) Church, Kreidersville, in Allen Twp., Northampton Co. Rev.
Andreas has not been located in the 1790 census and may have arrived in Northampton County after that date.
