Seismology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Transverse or shear waves that shake side-to-side require rigid material so they do not pass through the core.
Seismic waves produced by explosions have been used to map salt domes and other petroleum-bearing rocks, geological faults, rock types, and long-buried giant meteor craters.
For example, the Chicxulub impactor, which is believed to have killed the dinosaurs, was localized to Central America by analyzing ejecta in the cretaceous boundary, and then physically proven to exist using seismic maps from oil exploration.

This part of the crater was protected from the wind by some rockfalls and the cook wanted to avoid sand blowing into the meals.
Camping should be limited to the southern crater or, as a bivouac, in elevated areas in the northern crater as far as possible from vents and directions of lava flows.
Since its initial violent eruption from a hole in the crater floor on 15 July 2004, T58C has grown to a height of ~12m and is now the second highest cone in the crater.

On east side is a crater cluster of three pretty small craters and 10 small craters all grouped together with a rille running N-S through them.
There is a small, fresh crater on the south wall, near some white markings in the wall to the east.
It is nice that Lehmann, a very avid lunar observer of the past, is honored with a crater named after him.

Attached to the northern rim is the lesser Lehmann crater, and to the northeast is the even smaller Drebbel crater.
The Schickard crater has a worn rim that is overlaid in several locations by smaller impact craters.
The floor is marked with a triangular band of lighter-albedo material, leaving relatively darker patches in the north and southeast.

Meteorites of Campo del Cielo: Impact on the indian culture
The peculiar characteristics that it presents (size and alignment of the craters, great mass and high content of iron of the fragments, etc.) have gotten the attention during a lot of time.
For these reasons, it is important to settle down on firm bases the reaches of the impact of this dispersion on the indian cultures of the Chaco.
Their study suggests that the original depth of the crater was of ~ 13.8 m under the local level of the land.

The Ngorongoro Crater is located about 90 km to the southeast of the Serengeti study area, and the Crater lions enjoy higher and more consistent levels of food availability than the Serengeti lions (Hanby, Bygott and Packer 1995).
However, the Crater is a small, isolated population (80-100 animals) with an associated loss in genetic diversity compared to the much larger Serengeti population (O'Brien, et al.
It was not possible to estimate the extent of the earlier CDV epidemics, but it is at least noteworthy that CDV in 1994 was the most extensive of any documented outbreak and struck the largest population of susceptibles.

Atop Poás's crater rim, for example, you can gape down into the great well-like vent where pools of molten lava bubble menacingly--with diabolical, gut-wrenching fumes of chlorine and sulfur, and explosive cracks, like the sound of distant artillery, for good effect.
Two of Poás's craters now slumber under blankets of vegetation (one even cradles a lake), but the third crater belches and bubbles persistently.
In 1989, a spate of intense eruptions and gas emissions forced Poás Volcano National Park to close (local residents were even evacuated), and the volcano is constantly monitored for impending eruptions.

Prevalence of antibodies to feline parvovirus, calicivirus, herpesvirus, coronavirus, and immunodeficiency virus and of ...
Antibody titers to FPV and FCV were highly prevalent in the Serengeti (FPV, 75%; FCV, 67%) but not in Ngorongoro Crater (FPV, 27%; FCV, 2%).
These differences could be explained by the different habitats and biological histories of the two populations and by the well-documented absence of immigration of lions from the Serengeti plains into Ngorongoro Crater after 1965.
These observations indicate that, although the pathological potential of these viral infections seemed not to be very high in free-ranging lions, relocation of seropositive animals by humans to seronegative lion populations must be considered very carefully.

The fact is that what Kikawa and Lehmann are promoting is the direct 180 degree opposite of what Paul believed, lived and taught with regard to culture.
Another problem with Lehmann's analysis of this passage, out of context, is that most of the Greeks rejected the true God Paul was preaching because they did not believe in a resurrection.
