The Commission propose that the cross-borough boundary constituency between Bolton and Wigan should contain the six remaining Bolton Borough wards that are currently in Bolton West CC and the Wigan Borough ward of Atherton.
The existing constituencies in Stockport (and one partly in Tameside) have electorates ranging from 64,843 in Hazel Grove CC to 69,043 in Denton and Reddish BC, producing an electoral disparity of 4,200.

I am glad that those who own sub-post offices that close under the scheme will be able to claim compensation, which in many cases will help to offset the loss of their initial investment in the branch.
I know that such a move would inconvenience some of my constituents, but it would offer improved facilities and would undoubtedly help to support and complement another valuable local facility, the local neighbourhood chemist.

In terms of welfare, the key difference is that when multiple people represent a geographic constituency, there’s more room to represent class interests.
