 | | The answer is that they are all very important parts of an extensive and, with time, far-reaching interdisciplinary project concerning Bronze Age burial mounds, conditions of preservation and, not least, the rituals associated with the building of these mounds and the burials within them. |
 | | The main thrust of results of the pedological investigations was, therefore, that the environment which led to the exceptional state of preservation should probably be seen in the light of a specially and consciously executed method of mound construction. |
 | | This is a project which has arisen from, and incorporates, concrete questions ranging from those concerning pedological processes and particular methods of mound construction to hypotheses of significance for a broader interpretation of Bronze Age religion, social conditions and cosmology. |
