It was used by several hundred szlachta families during the existence of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and remains in use today by many of the descendants of these families.
There are several forms of the arms, all of which bear the name, Leliwa, but which may be distinguished as variations of the same arms by the addition of a Roman numeral.
Original arms of Leliwa, otherwise referred to as Leliwa I. [Shield] Azure [in Polish heraldry, this tincture is always sky blue], a crescent or, surmounted by a mullet of six points of the second.

It was a big family which settled in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania during the 17 and 18 centuries in the District of Lida.
This family established its identity using the seal of Leliwa coat of arms on March 4, 1820, November 10, 1832, on March 24, 1834 and on February 30, 1836 and the seal of Sreniawa on June 1, 1820 and was registered as noble in the Province of Grodno.
Already in 1595, the Songin with Sreniawa coat of arms had properties near Korklinie, as mentioned in the documents from Lidzki Sad Ziemski (Land acts of Lida).
