After the film Leningrad Cowboys go America the Finns started touring around the world, sometimes acting in film festivals, like in São Paulo, Brazil, where if you wanted to go to the concert you had to donate 3 kg of food for the many children who live in the streets of that city.
Ten years later, the Leningrad Cowboys were a world-known band, had toured the world several times, and happen to return to the very same Senate Square in Helsinki, in a free public concert that this time, yes, I did not miss.
The classic rock of the Cowboys was to mix with ethnic sounds from many different parts of the world, and so would do their dressing, as their fl sunglasses and grey military outfit turned rainbow-coloured.

The Leningrad Cowboys are best when performing rocked-out versions of classic Russian songs like "Katyusha" and "Kazaka".
I think my favorite brandings by these cowboys are their rendering of the Rolling Stones' It's Only Rock and Roll and ZZ Top's Gimme All Your Lovin.' Less successful are Knockin' on Heaven's Door and Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody (though I admit I never liked those songs anyway).
Particularly noteworthy is the COWBOYS' take on ZZ TOP's Gimme All Your Lovin, which sounds rather a lot like a cross between a sea shanty and a polka.
