		Lennon was born in Liverpool on the evening of October 9, 1940 during a period of much turmoil as the UK was heavily engaged in World War II.
		Aptly entitled 'John Lennon: The Tribute Concert', the concert was held on the the bank of the River Mersey in Liverpool.
		Though Lennon is widely remembered as a vocal campaigner for peace, in 2000 the late rock star was accused of secretly funding the IRA during the 1970s.
