Leon County (K-18) is east of Waco on Interstate 45 in the Claypan area of eastern Central Texas.
It is bounded on the north by Limestone and Freestone counties, on the east by Anderson and Houston counties, on the south by Madison County, and on the west by Robertson County.
Although Leon County residents made only a small material contribution to the war effort, they were forced to deal with the lack of markets and dizzying fluctuations in the value of Confederate currency, as well as concern for their relatives and friends on the battlefield.

The Leon County Commission voted unanimously to negotiate a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates to conduct the Lake Jackson Ecopassage Feasibility Study, to execute a Joint Project Agreement between Leon County and the Florida Department of Transportation, and to amend the County budget to include funds allocated by FDOT for the Lake Jackson Ecopassage project.
Leon County was directed to move forward with plans to use the $100,000 USD that has been earmarked by the FDOT for a feasibility study.

In January of this year Leon County Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho was contacted by representatives of Black Box Voting.org, a non-partisan elections advocacy group, to see if their computer experts could successfully circumvent the security of the Leon County voting system.
Based upon the data developed out of this exercise it is the opinion of the Leon County Supervisor of Elections that any effort to limit or remove the manual examination of paper ballots to confirm the correctness of election results is not in the public interest.
I live here in the heart of Jesusland (not in Leon County anymore where I was a resident for almost 15 years) and I have been a victim of right wing prejudice because I refuse to live my life in the closet.
