PAPE Leonora Christine[]: Classical Reviews- October 2001 MusicWeb(UK)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
The plot of Leonora Christine, Queen of the Blue Tower, which was first performed in 1999, is based on the true story of the illegitimate daughter of King Christian IV.
Pape has emphasised the social gulf between the princess and her servant by contrasting the dramatic mezzo-soprano of Leonora Christine with the cabaret style contralto used for the part of Karen.
Leonora Christine's past is cleverly presented through her dreamy reminiscences and her reading from old letters; a fractured series of recollections that freshly undermine her with their recalled immediacy.

It describes Leonora's - the daughter of King Christian IV - imprisonment in Blåtårn where she was held for 22 years.
The harsh realities of her story touch him, and in his pictures he describes the decadence and vulgarity of the royal life while clearly siding with the disowned king's daughter.

SF REVIEWS.NET: Tau Zero / Poul Anderson
Tau Zero is a tremendous novel, justifiably regarded as a classic, that proves two important things right off the bat: that hard science novels don't have to be tedious nuts-and-bolts physics lectures, and that a book can run fewer than 200 pages and still be a true epic.
The story concerns the Leonora Christine, an exploratory vessel on its way to a distant world.
Its crew knows that, by achieving speeds as close to that of light as is possible, Einsteinian relativity dictates that by the time they return home, all their friends and loved ones may well be old and grey, if not dead and gone.
