Lester Bryant Bird (born February 21, 1938, New York City) was Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda from 1994 to 2004 and a well-known athlete.
He was chairman of the Antigua Labour Party from 1971 to 1993, then became Prime Minister when his father, Vere Bird, the previous Prime Minister, resigned.
Bird's party lost eight seats, and he himself was defeated by Errol Cort, who became finance minister in the new United Progressive Party government.

I have heard that the Lester administration are known to give awya passports and things of the likes, however to insinuate that passport fraud only happens in ANU is totally bull ****.

During elections in March 1994, power passed from Vere Bird to his son, Lester Bird, but remained within the ALP which won 11 of the 17 parliamentary seats.
In the last elections in March 1999, the ALP gained another seat resulting in a distribution of 12 seats to the ALP, four seats to the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) led by Baldwin Spencer, and one seat to the Barbuda People's Movement (BPM).
The country agreed to contribute personnel to the multinational force which restored the democratically elected government of Haiti in October 1994.
