Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs--as high as 600 feet in some places--surrounded by lush forests.
It is located in the middle of Letchworth State Park at the entrance to the Highbanks Camping Area.

Letchworth State Park is a state park located 35 miles (56 km) south of Rochester, New York.
The park covers roughly 23 square miles (60 km²) of land along the Genesee River.

Letchworth is a 17-mile-long (27-km-long) state park that encompasses both sides of a 600-foot-deep (180-metre-deep) gorge carved by the snaking Genesee River.
