		Letters to Cleo was an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts (although they originally started out as a ska band).
		Hanley kept them in a box under her bed marked "Letters to Cleo", and happened across the box as the band was attempting to think of a name for itself.
		Letters to Cleo was featured in the movie 10 Things I Hate About You in 1999 (one of the characters considers them a favorite band).

		Altho more a Popwer Pop band than riot grrrl, Hanley and Jones used their fame to raise dollars for feminist causes in their hometown, but the loyalty they inspired in their fans ended sadly in May of 2000, when LTC played it’s final show.
