At an opportune occasion, Leung Ting was introduced by one of his elder kung-fu brothers to Yip Man, the Grand Master of Wing Tsun, who had at that time retired from his martial art career for years.
In November of 1969 Leung Ting held a "Wing Tsun Kung-fu Demonstration and Tournament" on the campus of the Baptist College.
During 1970 Leung Ting devoted all his energy to giving shows of Wing Tsun kung-fu to a great number of associations and educational institutes, and, at the request of radio and television stations, gave public demonstrations.

Leung ting modified his for whatever reason (most likely individualized the system), william cheung claims to have the one and only true wing chun, wong shun leaung is world famous for his wing chun and power.
Wong shun leung's school rather stays out of the politics of it to a degree, as does my sifu, but william cheung as mentioned earlier, claims to be the true inheritor of the yip man lineage.
Leung ting and William Chung being the most vocal about their claims, leung ting's lineage has come under attack many times because he spent most of his years training with a guy named Kalvin Kwok (I'm not sure if that's the guy).

Suffice it to say, that Leung Ting seems NOT to have mellowed towards his former Sifu after all these years, as evidenced by his comments in his most recent book "Roots and Branches of the Wing Tsun system" and other places.
Leung Ting has seen the same thing within his own organization as has William Cheung and others.

Leung Ting is always talking about how he learned the real kung fu from Yip Man and had to change a lot of what he was taught in Leung Shang's school.
Leung Sheung line runs the spectrum from Ken Chung to Leung Ting to Emin Boztepe to Chung K Chow.
I haven't worked with any of CKC's people, but his look on tape is a bit different to me. The KC folks I've trained with use a similar 'engine' and have similar mechanics to WT, with some minor technical differences, and a fairly different focus in training approach and focus.

Leung Ting's Association, has launched a deliberate campaign to discredit my name and reputation among students and practitioners of the martial arts.
Happily, I will continue teaching the arts that have been taught to me - even though both Leung Ting and Kernspecht now claim that I don't know Wing Tsun (it is interesting to note that called me an "expert" when they were receiving money from me).
Ting was personally invited by me to conduct a U.S. tour.

This is old news to most but apparently it was Keith Kernsphect,not Ting who forced him out.
There was all kinds of stories at the time of Kernspecht trying to set up Emin by arranging a seminar in Germany for Emin which apparently would be ambushed by several of Kernspecht's high graded students.
Also some big anniversary meal arranged by kernspecht for all the top instructors, he invited Emin along but at the last minute Emin was warned, apparently by Ting, not to go since Kernspecht was trying to set him up again for a fight.

Most of the problems with the Leung Ting group came in the form of Emin Boztepe.
Anyway it is believed that Emin Boztepe decided to defend Leung Ting's honour (?) by jumping William Cheung at a demo.
The whole thing is ridiculous, sparked by overblown egos on both sides, and students of Ting and Cheung who have nothing better to do than take part in childish 'my dad can beat up your dad' type arguments.
