LEW: Far too many to mention, but inspirations way back when would be Ken Reid's fantastic comic-horror style on strips like Frankie Stein in "Wham!" and Mike Higgs when he was doing The Cloak in "Pow!" [in the 1960s].
LEW: It had always been at the back on my mind to do a Brickman collection one day, but [publisher] Richard Starkings made it a reality by offering to publish it through Active Images.
LEW: Be willing to work for comics for any age group instead of starting out pursuing the pipe dream of immediately landing that graphic novel contract.

I'm sure we are not alone in feeling that this is particularly an issue when the TV show in question deals significantly with surveillance in Society.

Stringer recalled a government-sponsored training exercise for a chemical attack before September 11, in which none of the hospitals in a city he refused to identify participated in the drill.
Since then, Stringer said, hospital officials have been more eager to learn how to participate.

These strips were, like all but the main Sonic ones, dropped to make room for reprinted strips in later issues.
Interestingly, though, Lew Stringer, who became sole writer on the comic for a while, gave Sonic a similar set of adventures in the main strip, at the request of the editor.
When Nigel Kitching was brought back as sole writer for the comic's final non-reprint story, a new editor was in place and the character of Tekno was not used despite Amy's longstanding friendship with her, as Kitching preferred not to use Stringer's own created characters.

Lew is a cartoonist in the old D.C. Thompson mould (Beano, Dandy, Whizzer and Chips and the like) producing cartoons that are (as he states on the cover of Yampy), "Not rude...
It's a shame they were ever in them because Lew's work deserves better — but then such is the state of the British comics industry, and Lew's got to make a living somehow!
The strips are also printed in fl and white — a format they were undoubtable designed for, and I should imagine that their news-stand printings were (probably) sloppily coloured.

I always found his work to be quite humorous.
