Born in York, Pennsylvania in 1796, Lewis Miller became a carpenter after being apprenticed to his older brother John.
Lewis Miller spent considerable time with relatives in Christiansburg.
We are fortunate to have two original Miller sketches, an original Valentine dated 1857, and a daguerrotype in our permanent collection, along with numerous articles, artifacts, and reproductions.

This is possibly Joseph, the son of Jonas Valentine and Sarah Bedell (see previous outline) who married Temperence Little.
Lewis J. Valentine, another early resident of Sussex County, indicates on the 1850 Sussex County Census for Frankford Twp., that he was born in Hempstead, L. (Enumerated with Son-In-Law, John Cole.) There is little doubt that Lewis J. in someway connects to Joseph Valentine.

On the 13th of February, 1962, poet, playwright, and language activist Saunders Lewis gave an address on BBC radio entitled "Tynged yr Iaith"-Fate of the Language.

One of the more controversial of the New Orleans revivalist players of the 1960's, Kid Thomas Valentine was hailed by some partisans as one of the great interpreters of "the real jazz" while others could not get beyond his erratic intonation and his occasionally out-of-tune solos.
