I always thought that Lex just ran a certain division of LuthorCorp, but then I heard about LexCorp and realized that that was the one from the comics too.
I think Lexcorp is Lex's own business and he's trying to show his father Lionel that he can prove to him that he can make it on his own.
LexCorp is only what he named plant #3 when he bought it out.
