Lexden (or Lessendon) is a district in the North ward of the borough of Colchester, pleasantly situated about a mile and a half west of the town, the road from London passing through the principal street; it is on the river Colne and is crossed by the line of the London and North Eastern railway.
Lexden Lodge, the ancient manor house, is now known only as a moated farm house, though a considerable park, stretching nearly down to the town at North Bridge, seems to have been formally attached to it on the north side of the river.

Following their narrow defeat in the final last year, the Tek Sing Lexden players were determined not to go home as runners up again this year but some excellent performances by the Broxbourne players created a nailbiting finish for one of the most vocal crowds the tournament has ever hosted.
