The official umbrella organisation of Liberal Judaism in the UK was founded as the Jewish Religious Union in 1902, was renamed the Union of Liberal and Progressive Synagogues in 1944, and officially renamed itself Liberal Judaism in 2003.
LJY-Netzer is the youth movement of Liberal Judaism and a progressive Zionist youth movement, associated with Netzer Olami.

The formation of the Liberal Movement (LM) emerged from the long time dissatisfaction by members of the progressive wing of the Liberal and Country League (LCL) in South Australia, who believed that the LCL had remained philosophically trapped in the late nineteenth century.
Unfortunately, the hoped for nationwide support had not eventuated and by 1976, it was reported that only one third of LM members had renewed their membership that year, leading to a decision by the Liberal Movement South Australian State Convention of 1 May that year that the party would rejoin the Liberal Party.
While the Liberal Movement was short lived, it was successful in providing a mouthpiece for the small-l liberal constituency in Australia.

 Young Liberal Movement of Australia
The Young Liberal Movement spread from Victoria to the other states, so that by the federal elections of 1946 the Young Liberal Movement was playing a pivotal role throughout Australia in securing the electoral success of the Liberal Party.
The 1974 Federal Council of the Party agreed to a proposal for the Young Liberals' senior positions to be elected by a Young Liberal Federal Council, consisting of 6 delegates per Division (and held concurrently with the National Convention at which all Young Liberals were eligible to attend).
The Young Liberal representation on the senior party's Executive was expanded to two positions, while the Movement was also given a seat on the Joint Standing Committee on Federal Policy.

In retrospect, we may see the rise of classical liberalism as a thread of individuals and movements revealing both a continuity of ideas and a continual growth, as thinkers refined and added to the basic principles of the thought.

Though most Jews do not have any theological objections to praying in the synagogues of other movements, liberal services are not "religious" enough or "Jewish" enough for traditional Jews, and traditional services are too long, too conservative, and often basically incomprehensible to liberal Jews (because traditional services are primarily, if not exclusively, in Hebrew).

 Careful Not to Get Too Much Education...Or You Could Turn Liberal
"Leading the movement is Students for Academic Freedom, with chapters on 135 campuses and close ties to David Horowitz, a onetime liberal campus activist turned conservative commentator.
The "conservative" movement that he's spearheading reminds me of the news reports coming out of Iran in the months just prior to the conservative religious takeover of that country when its professors were warned to present the "correct" views in class.
This movement pretends to be about "balancing" liberal with conservative views, but the reality is a lot uglier than that.
