Audrey McLaughlin was born in Dutton, Ontario in 1936.
She was first elected to the House of Commons for the Yukon in a by-election in 1987 and re-elected in the general elections of 1988 and 1993.
For the next six years she led the Party through a tumultuous time during which the NDP formed the provincial governments in Ontario in 1990, under the leadership of Bob Rae, and in British Columbia in 1991, under Michael Harcourt.

The party is given to fighting internally as it attempts to scrape the bottom of its barrel to find a leader they can sell to the public in their hope to re-live the old days when there was lots of YOUR money for all ofthe party friends and hangers-on.
In Nova Scotia, with a gutless government such as John Hamm provides, insurers have been able to get away with rates that would make a Mafia money-lender proud.Rates are really determined by how much of a return the insurers want on their dollars.One or two will then set a rate and the others will follow.

In Nova Scotia it is almost the same, except for the Liberal leader in Nova Scotia.
It does not matter who it is or what party it is, if they are dealing with the Government of Canada they should divest themselves of their interests, their personal guarantees and everything else as quickly as possible to avoid any of the accusations or the perception of conflict.
It has this big city agenda, and this whole refusal to give Newfoundland and Nova Scotia the resources that it promised in June is just simply a part of that as far as I am concerned.
