Communist rebels disguised as policemen freed a comrade and another detainee from prison guards as they were enroute to a court hearing in Nueva Ecija early Thursday, police said.
Flores was arrested in Guimba, Nueva Ecija in January for the 1993 murder of a barangay chairman of Guimba, Carlito de la Cruz of Barangay Partida.

CABANATUAN CITY - A 44-year-old man who had allegedly been raping his own daughter since she was 11 was arrested in Lupao, Nueva Ecija by joint elements of Lupao and Licab police after months of hiding in different towns, police said on Wednesday.
Nueva Ecija police director Senior Supt. Alex Paul Monteagudo said suspect Ricardo M. Vidania was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by the Guimba Regional Trial Court where a case of rape has been filed by his 15-year-old daughter.

 LWUA completing P1.2B water projects in North, Central Luzon
According to Jamora, of the 29 water projects being pursued by LWUA in the area, five are in the Ilocos worth a combined P336.8 million; seven in Cagayan Valley amounting to P468.6 million; two in the Cordillera costing P122.7 million ; and fifteen in Central Luzon with an aggregate project cost of P230.9 million.
As of the end of the first quarter of the current year, two of the projects have been fully completed, in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan amounting to P10.2 million and in San Jose City in Nueva Ecija worth P15.4 million, Jamora reported.
Another ten projects including two funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), namely the comprehensive water supply improvement projects of Santiago City, Isabela worth P385 million and Candon, Ilocos Sur (P148.2 million) are nearing full completion as of the same period.

Flores was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Blas Kausapin Jr.
