Jerry Leiber (born April 25, 1933) and Mike Stoller (born March 13, 1933) are among the most influential songwriters and music producers in post-World War II popular music.
Leiber came from Baltimore, Stoller from Long Island, but they met in Los Angeles in the 1950s, where Stoller was a freshman at Los Angeles City College while Leiber was a senior at Fairfax High.
In 1956, Stoller survived the sinking of the SS Andrea Doria.

Their story is a fascinating one, beginning in the early 50's, through a period of writing cabaret music for Peggy Lee, and continuing to their semi-retirement in the 70's.
Why they couldn't show a little love and give us a DVD jukebox of these hits is beyond me. Having a collection of Lieber and Stoller hits on the disc would have made them worth buying all by itself.
