(1873); by John Small in the British and Foreign Evangelical Review (July, 1877, April and October, 1879); and by R. Small in two papers (ibid., 1878).
LOGAN, SIR WILLIAM EDMOND (1798-1875), British geologist, was born in Montreal on the 2oth of April 1798, of Scottish parents.

Lieutenant Commander Logan, a character in the Star Trek fictional universe, was one of the first Chief Engineers of the USS Enterprise-D under captain Jean-Luc Picard.
In 2365, Logan was apparently transferred, as Lieutenant (j.g.) Geordi La Forge was promoted to full lieutenant, transferred from command to the operations division and became the Enterprise's new chief engineer.
During the events of "The Arsenal of Freedom", Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander William Riker, Lieutenant Commander Data, Lieutenant Tasha Yar and Dr. Beverly Crusher beam down to the planet Minos, and Picard leaves La Forge in command of the ship.

Geordi La Forge, a character in the Star Trek fictional universe, holds the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and is the Chief Engineer of the USS Enterprise-D and later the USS Enterprise-E, both under Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
In 2365, he was promoted to a full Lieutenant and transferred from command to the operations division and named chief engineer, replacing Lieutenant Commander Logan.
As of 2379, LaForge still held the rank of Lieutenant Commander although in an alternate history (seen in Star Trek: Voyager) he eventually rises to the rank of Captain.
