Life on Other Planets? - Chamber of Secrets
Whether your spiritual or philosophical beliefs say we're the only planet with life on it, you can't look into the sky at night and deny that, some where out there, there is someone or something doing the same and wondering if they're also alone.
Planet Earth has the luck to bear all the atoms we know about (There are no more)...all other possible atoms would be just unstable that it will only last microseconds before fision into another stable atoms.
I don't know....I believe there are several millions other planets and planetary systems out there, but to find one that matches the exact conditions that the Earth or that matches the conditions for life to exist...that is what I doubt, hence I don't believe in extraterrestrial life.

 Life on other Planets
Life as we know it on earth is carbon based and requires a certain environment to survive.
Sophisticated life forms are relative newcomers on Earth compared to bacteria and archaea.
Because the environment of other planets is more primitive, life on other planets (if it exists) may be primitive.

The Nature of Life on Other Planets   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Given that life cannot exist on all planets and that it does on ours, without further information we have to conclude that life is more likely to exist on a planet similar to ours than on those that are dissimilar.
Life is probably on stable planets with an atmosphere (or local areas of atmosphere) that contain these chemicals.
One can be confident in stating that life on other planets will utilize many of the same reactions as we do in our cells - both driven by the fact that those who are most efficient sooner or later dominate the population.

Let me propose some reasons why I believe there is no life on other planets.
If, there were other beings on other planets that have sinned, then they would need a redeemer.
I do not believe there is life on other planets and I suspect that what has manifested is nothing more than a great deception that is slowing enveloping mankind.

The microbial life forms involved must then be hyperthermophilic, living at temperatures up to 120°C, possibly as much as 150°C. And the quantities, in terms of mass or volume, would have to be comparable with all the surface life we know.
The surface conditions on the other solid planetary bodies are all quite different from those we have here, where the conditions are remarkably favorable for the development of surface life.
From the investigation of microbial life on other bodies of our solar system we may then be able to come closer to an answer to the basic questions of the origin of life.

 Life on other planets?
The earth was made first, and the other heavenly bodies made on the fourth day were for signs and seasons for the earth.
There is no scientific reason for assuming life on other planets—or even for insisting on the existence of any planets outside our solar system, let alone a planet so uniquely suited to sustaining life as is earth.
The reason why many have come to believe so readily that life on other planets is reasonable is solely the result of evolutionary speculation.

If other creatures live on other planets, then they have to face the same type of problems, so it seems impossible for them to travel from their planets to ours.
So, if there are intelligent creatures living on planets in other star systems, it seems, according to modern science, that we won't meet them.
So, if there are extra-terrestial intelligent beings, or, even, other types of life on planets outside our solar system, then to me, that would be a new proof of the existence of God.

Life on Other Planets is proof positive that you just never know what a band has in them.
While Life on Other Planets, their fourth disc, has the band’s goofball hallmarks--random coughs, braying animals, and mashed potato references, to name three--the songs go somewhere, and they yank us along with them.
While LOOP is a pretty good record in its own right and if anyone other than supergrass had released it, I would be giving it 4 stars.

 Meaningful Life Center
This is based on the Biblical belief that human life, empowered with the ability to choose between good and evil, was bestowed exclusively upon Adam and Eve on Earth.
All other creatures follow a "program" inherent in their natural makeup; the laws of nature that (when untouched by human hands) maintain a natural balance.
Thus, any discovery of extraterrestrial life only intensifies our responsibility to protect, refine and elevate the entire universe in all its elements -- mineral, vegetable and animal -- and transform them to channels of divine energy by utilizing them for living better and more virtuous lives.

Two new planets, and the possibility of life on them, is discussed by San Francisco State astronomer Dr.
GEOFFREY MARCY: Well, we've been looking for planets now for eight and a half years with a totally new technique which employs large telescopes and watching for the wobble of a star due to the gravitational pull of the attendant planets which sadly we can't see directly.
We found two planets in the last month, and it's really a matter of analyzing the data we get from telescopes, and suddenly on your computer screen you're done with the analysis.

For the MilkyWay Galaxy, in the early stages of galaxy formation there were not enough heavy elements to form terrestrial planets except in the most central regions of the Galaxy, where the danger due to nearby supernovae was very high.
One of the curiousities about intelligent life (IL) is that it is likely to arise tens or hundreds of millions of years apart.
Unless we are the first in our galaxy, other IL would have several millions of years to spread throughout the galaxy.

Life on Other Planets is a smashing return to form, an album giddy with the sheer pleasure of making music.
If there's anything wrong with Life On Other Planets, it's that the band really isn't branching out at all -- and when you get to your fourth album, it's hard to sound as fresh and vital as you once did if you aren't trying anything new.

It covers all the major topics, including the origin and early history of life on Earth, the environmental conditions necessary for life to exist, the possibility that life might exist elsewhere in our Solar System, the occurrence of planets around other stars and their habitability, and the possibility of intelligent extraterrestrial life.
For all those interested in understanding the scientific evidence for and likelihood of extraterrestrial life, this is the most comprehensive and readable book to date.

"Whereas previous concepts conducive to the habitability of the planets were derived from first principles, the hard scientific data that flowed from the automated spacecraft of the 1960s and 1970s produced a decisive swing of opinion toward the proposition that the planets were neither inhabited nor habitable, but were rather remarkably uninhabitable"

"The search for the origin of life, and the related question of how often life occurs in our galaxy and the universe are potentially the most interesting and challenging topics in all of 21st century science," said UA astronomy Professor Nick Woolf, who leads the new Tucson-based project.
Not only is the search for how we and our planet started expected to be a key area of 21st century science, but these studies are important to high technologies in optics and life sciences that are valuable to our state's economy and the lives of all our citizens," Woolf said last night.
UA will create a center called the "Life And Planets Astrobiology Center," or the Laplace Center, within the College of Science to promote interdisciplinary studies needed to develop the astrobiology community beyond the departmental level and across institutional boundaries.

Astrobiologists are not yet searching for life beyond our solar system, except for the SETI programs that are looking for intelligent life.

NASA - NASA Developing Detector to Discover Life on Other Planets
NASA scientists are developing a 'life detector' to enable researchers to look for exotic life forms under a sea that may exist on Europa, a moon of Jupiter.
Scientists believe, however, that for life to exist much farther away from the sun than Earth in places with thick ice crusts, such as Europa, life would need other sources of energy.
Some scientists theorize that one environment that might foster life, independent of the sun, is in the deep subsurface of Earth.
