The band is presently in the recording studio completing their fourth studio album due for release in early 2007.
Lifehouse's international fan base began to grow and while fans of the band considered Wade's lyrics to be deep, questioning, and profoundly spiritual, some found Lifehouse's output to be "drab FM-radio rock".

Self-titling it, Lifehouse are claming the rebirth of the band -— since bassist Sergio Andrade and guitarist Sean Woolstenhulme (what a last name) left a year ago, Bryce Soderberg joined Jason Wade and Rick Woolstenhulme on bass, the last album and a new record label has been pretty much the question of survival for Lifehouse.
Lifehouse returned with their self-titled third album and it's not the same Lifehouse that we used to know.
Lifehouse, in person of singer-songwriter Jason Wade, distinguish themselves with meaningful, candid and moody at times lyrics -- and this album is not the exception.

Lifehouse Recycles Past Success; Miller Misses Band on Solo Attempt - Arts
Lifehouse follows the enormous success of its single "Hanging by a Moment" with a derivative second album that prolongs the sadness shown on No Name Face.
Without the country influences of the band, the tunes are more on the pop side, but Miller's songwriting is still as straightforward and folksy as ever.
The band shoots itself in the foot by not remaining solely instrumental -- ruining what could have been a successful project.

 Reveal Review: Lifehouse
Lifehouse has always been a mainstream rock band made up of Christians, who did not explicitly tag their music as "Christian" but who found a lot of success with the CCM audience (some would argue more than they did in the mainstream).
I'd be the last person to accuse a band of "selling out" due to their lyrics not being identifiably religious - Jason Wade has generally excelled at expressing his dialogues with God in simple but poetic terms that allow for other interpretations.
The band has basically given us a song about not wasting time, which fails to take hold because it talks about time in generic terms and relies on elementary rhymes like "years and fears".

The band is built from the drums keeping perfect time and the bass as the melodic foundation so the guitars and vocalist can lay out their amazing performance.
The big problem with Lifehouse is that, on STANLEY CLIMBFALL, the band plays it safe rather than experimenting and taking the originality they showed on their debut to the next level.

Lifehouse is an aptly titled album that possesses a sense of rebirth for Wade and his band.
While some of the hooky anthemic compositions of their previous effort are somewhat missed here, Lifehouse is a thinking-man's alt rock album, bearing the kind of sensitivity that permeated the band's debut.
Some may even look at the album as a step back for the band, but instead, Lifehouse is merely a step in a different direction.
