Lifehouse, who earned such a distinction with 2001's highly addictive "Hanging by a Moment," shrewdly stick to the emotional guitar-rock palette of that breakthrough single for most of their second album.
Stanley Climbfall, Lifehouse's sophomore album on DreamWorks, is filled with their signature rock songs with an emotional edge, driven by Wade's lyrics that are both honest and revealing.
Lifehouse's appreciation of their success also comes from remembering the days when they were just a local band from Agoura, CA.

The album was recorded in a beautiful landscape in between green hills and Chesapeak Bay in Maryland.
Lifehouse returned with their self-titled third album and it's not the same Lifehouse that we used to know.
Lifehouse, in person of singer-songwriter Jason Wade, distinguish themselves with meaningful, candid and moody at times lyrics -- and this album is not the exception.

The song was so much of a hit, that the band felt the strain while making their second album 'Stanley Climbfall', but now they have set the stage to introduce to you their new success.
While Jason wrote most of the second album while on the road, he has been able to take the time he needed and write at his own leisure for this third album which seems very polished.
Be sure to pick up a copy of Lifehouse's self-titled album, and tune in to VH1 on March 29th for a live performance and on April 12 check them out on 'Last Call with Carson Daly'.

After the phenomenal success of their 'concept' album TOMMY in 1969, The Who and especially Pete Townsend were in a quandary about how to follow up the 'monster' that TOMMY had become.
The story of Lifehouse wasn’t even mentioned on the sleeve of "Who's Next" and several songs vital to the plot of Lifehouse were left off the album.
The resulting album was "Who's Next", and in an ironic twist of fate the failure of the Lifehouse project made Who's Next a greater album than it could have been as simply Lifehouse's soundtrack.

I do not think that it is too soon for Jason/Lifehouse to be working on another album because Jason has a lot of fresh ideas about his song writing talents. He has a positive attitude on his song writing ability because the CD's and their live concerts are doing so well.
I hope that Lifehouse has a wonderful response from the public in regard to the new album because indeed the self-titled album "Lifehouse" is still selling very well.
Another thing is that the latest album took 3 years to come out because of the transition from Dreamworks to Geffen and some uncertainty as to the future of the band.

Lifehouse is an aptly titled album that possesses a sense of rebirth for Wade and his band.
While some of the hooky anthemic compositions of their previous effort are somewhat missed here, Lifehouse is a thinking-man's alt rock album, bearing the kind of sensitivity that permeated the band's debut.
Some may even look at the album as a step back for the band, but instead, Lifehouse is merely a step in a different direction.

I hope Lifehouse brings out a DVD of many of their songs, it would be fitting for this group of talented young men who are well on their ways to achieving some great accolades and fame.
Overall, it is hard to compare this album with their first two as it vastly different in so many ways, but shows a lot of maturity in both the songwriting and the performance.

Lifehouse has always been a mainstream rock band made up of Christians, who did not explicitly tag their music as "Christian" but who found a lot of success with the CCM audience (some would argue more than they did in the mainstream).
Aside from that, Lifehouse is a wholly forgettable album.
This song may be the most frustrating moment on the album - it's a languid ballad that proceeds to go absolutely nowhere in its five and a half minutes of airtime.

Calling that song a hit, however, is a bit of an understatement as “Hanging by a Moment” was the most-played song of 2001 (according to BDS), the unequivocal airplay champ across the entire spectrum of radio formats.
It inspired a Los Angeles Times reviewer, for one, to assign it three stars and report, “Singer-guitarist Jason Wade makes rock that is inventive, igniting the occasional explosion of electric guitar, sounding barely contained by the emotional pop hooks at his fingertips” (Sept. 15, 2002).

Lifehouse has produced an utter disappointment with this monotonous disc.
The Southern California-based rock trio seemed to grasp the concept on their debut, No Name Face, on which the tallest mountain, "Hanging by a Moment", proved to be a massive hit, but which also featured splendid slow songs such as "Trying", "Breathing", and "Everything".
And no one could blame them for exploring their rocking side a bit more on the follow-up, Stanley Climbfall, which produced a moderately successful single in "Spin", and which had a cluttered, wall-of-sound approach in several songs that worked in spite of itself.

Lifehouse - Stanley Climbfall : album review
Before asking "Lifehouse who?" it is worth noting that this band had the most played single on US radio last year with Hanging By A Moment, an honour that apparently belonged to Shaggy's highly noxious It Wasn't Me here in the UK.
Given that Lifehouse's Hanging By A Moment tramples all over How You Remind Me from a great height in terms of quality, now is a good time to give their second album, Stanley Climbfall, a fair hearing.
If this sounds more than a little derivative, that's because it is. However, what prevents Lifehouse from becoming merely humdrum is that, just like Kurt Cobain, Jason Wade knows his way round a chorus, and even further, has a knack for writing uplifting lyrics that, while clearly spiritual, never resort to over-sentimentality or didacticism.

My interpretation to that is he wants LIFEHOUSE to secure a long term deal (with Geffen at the moment) like maybe 20 albums under a record label and not worry about LIFEHOUSE's future like what happened to them with Dreamworks.
That's why I want them to focus first now on the fourth album because I have a stong feeling that if this album makes it, it could give a huge space for any side projects to be released.
Tumnus is a worship album that Jason worked on a while ago but never really got around to releasing (and probably won't anytime soon).

Lifehouse's follow-up to the band's impressive, multi-platinum debut is something of a letdown.
The big problem with Lifehouse is that, on STANLEY CLIMBFALL, the band plays it safe rather than experimenting and taking the originality they showed on their debut to the next level.

The popular band continues to steer away from the neo-grunge comparisons, embracing more of a subdued Beatle-esque approach to carry songs about reconciliation and perseverance.
