On 18th December 1999 Lightwater Village Sign was unveiled at the village memorial by The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr.
"Lightwater Village sign has been organized by 'Lightwater Care' with a grant of £1,000 from Surrey heath Borough Council's Village Strategy Fund, the balance of the money coming from donations from villagers with the remainder being donated by Lightwater Care from their funds.

Another 'only at Lightwater' peculiarity is the Toad Hole, a very individual shuttle water chute ride, its not often you find yourself rolling down the side of a hill inside a wooden skip, plunging into a pond, its odd yet very fun experiences like this, that give Lightwater a very strong personality.
You may be wondering what the path marking "give way no right turn" is about, well this is left over from what used to be the BMX track, this was one of the first attractions at Lightwater Valley, the track is still in tact, however there are no longer any facilities to get the bikes.
Lightwater Valley's development has been sluggish over the past few years, the new rides are low cost and often pre-owned, funfair rides plonked down without any effort or sense imagination, it's time the owners spent a few extra bucks on sprucing the place up, sorting out the landscaping and getting it looking smashing once again.

I've heard Lightwater Valley are removing Toad Hole splash ride.
The Toad Hole, Lightwater Valley, has now been closed for a couple of weeks as it was derailing, and doesn't look set to open again anytime soon.

The only difference really is that the park models have gantries on the brakes, like the one at Lightwater Valley.
I believe the Fantasy Island one is a smaller model, it seems it.

I have not experienced a trim on this type of rdide before, and it seems utterly pointless.
This coaster spent seven years in Whitley Bay's Spanish City Amusement Park, then a further three years in storage, before it's 2004 debut at Lightwater Valley.
Time has not been too kind to it.
