 Tippett's Choral Music
His version of the English tune, Early one morning, at the start, places this classic tune within a firmly composed harmonic frame.
The second (Irish) song, Lilliburlero is turned into a rollicking scherzo.
In the Burns setting, Poortith cauld (Cold Poverty), Tippett added his own embellishment to the tune in its second and third appearances: and his arrangement of the final (Welsh) song, Gwenllian, released it from the 'four-square' straitjacket it had acquired within the context of eighteenth-century Welsh harp music.

When we say: "Every word in language signifies something" we have so far said nothing whatever; unless we have explained exactly what distinction we wish to make.
(It might be, of course, that we wanted to distinguish the words of language (8) from words 'without meaning' such as occur in Lewis Carroll's poems, or words like "Lilliburlero" in songs.)
I think that Wittgenstein means that to say that every word in the language signifies something, is not to be very informative, that is a tautology.
