		Limahl felt particularly honoured by the award being presented by Hal David better known as one half of legendary song writing duo Baccarach and David.
		The unexpected and violent surprise of this treacherous act was highlighted in an interview with Limahl during the January 2004 VH-1 sponsored TV special Bands Reunited when the group reformed for the first time in twenty years, he said "I was devastated, it really felt like a knife in my heart".

		An advert was placed in a music magazine asking for a “front man who could sing and look good.” Soon after he had joined, the group released their first single “Too Shy” which went to number one in the UK charts and the top five on the Billboard Hot 100.
		However, Limahl never enjoyed good relationships with the rest of the band, and later in 1983, the others in the band fired him after an acrimonious dispute.
		Limahl shared a flat with disc jockey Paul Gambaccini during his heyday, leading to rumours in the tabloid press that the two were lovers, a claim which both denied.

		The band sacked Limahl in the 80's, because their manager thought they were not being taken seriously enough and Limahl's 'pretty boy' look was to blame.
		Limahl agreed none the less and the band got on like they never split.
		Limahl had been enjoying doing the club and holiday camp circuit, but the band now have plans to reform and go on tour!
