The Limburg was a French-flagged oil tanker, chartered by a Malaysian oil firm.
It was a double hull vessel, built in 2000; its length was 332 meters and its width was 58 meters.
While it was some miles offshore, an explosives-laden boat rammed the starboard side of the tanker and detonated, catching the vessel on fire and spewing approximately 90,000 barrels of oil into the Gulf of Aden.

The source said that the decision to refer their files to the prosecution and court has been taken after the security authorities completed their investigations into the cases.
The US refused several times to allow the suspects of the Cole bombing to be tried, in order to collect more information on the operatives.
