Limited Brands NYSE: LTD (formerly known as The Limited, Inc.) is an American company founded in 1963 by Leslie H. Wexner (current chairman and CEO; he and his family control 17% of LTD) in Columbus, Ohio, where its corporate headquarters is also currently located.
Wexner took the The Limited Brands public in 1969, listed as LTD on the NYSE.
Limited Brands does not franchise, but directly owns and operates more than 4,000 stores in the United States for the following retail brands:

Now, pundits are speculating that the Limited Brands division, which now includes only 347 stores, could sell to a strategic or financial buyer for $100-280 million.
