Lincoln Center is a city located in Lincoln County, Kansas.
At the center of the county is the county seat, Lincoln, or Lincoln Center as it was first named to indicate its location in the county.
Both the county and the town were named for Abraham Lincoln by a Kentucky neighbor of the Lincoln's who settled the area in 1870.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a 15 acre (61,000 m²) complex of buildings in New York City which serves as home for 12 arts companies.
It was the first gathering of major cultural institutions into a centralized location in a United States city, and is located between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues and between West 62nd and 66th Streets on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
In 2004 Lincoln Center was expanded through the addition of Jazz at Lincoln Center's newly built facilities (Frederick P. Rose Hall) at the new Time Warner Center, located a few blocks to the south.

The Lincoln Center Follies are in the news these days, what with the unexpected (except by insiders) resignation on September 28, after only a few months' tenure, of President Gordon J. Davis, and the subsequent decamping of the Chairman of the Lincoln Center Redevelopment Corporation, Marshall Rose (announced on October 22).
This was the central idea of Lincoln Center's first President, the noted composer William Schuman; though he was only partly successful, his ideas have continued to be championed by successors such as Martin Segal and Nathan Leventhal.
There is little doubt that the creation of the expensive Lincoln Center Festival in 1997 exacerbated the hostility of some of the constituents, but the shrewd diplomacy of LCI's Board Chairman, Beverly Sills, allowed the Festival to continue and to have a place in the annual program.
