Lincoln City was created after a vote on December 8, 1964 to unite the cities of Oceanlake, Delake and Taft with the unincorporated communities of Cutler City and Nelscott.
In the city the population is spread out with 22.2% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 24.0% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 19.3% who are 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the city is $24,959, and the median income for a family is $31,783.
