Lincoln County is a member of the regional Centralina Council of Governments.
In the county the population is spread out with 24.90% under the age of 18, 7.70% from 18 to 24, 31.70% from 25 to 44, 24.20% from 45 to 64, and 11.50% who are 65 years of age or older.
