		The Versailles was largely a response to the great success of the smaller Cadillac Seville which had appeared in 1975.
		Lincoln remained out of the luxury mid-size market for a couple of years, then re-entered the market in 1982 with the downsized Lincoln Continental.
		The rear differential used in the Versailles was the tried and true Ford 9-inch, but equipped with rear disc brakes, replacing the drums on the Granada and the Monarch.

		Picked up a cheap Ford 9" out of a Versailles several months ago and may be selling/trading my Scout D44 rear to build it instead.
		The shop I bought it from says that it's a standard 9" with 5 on 5.5" bolt circle...well, they were wrong about the bolt circle, so now I'm concerned about whether or not it's a standard 9".
		From what I've gathered in pricing gears and such, some/many Versailles came with an oddball 9" in them.
