It is appropriate that in the year of Linda Kozlowski's 10th wedding anniversary to Australia's favourite son Paul Hogan that the now 42-year old actress is starring in a third Dundee film.
Though Paul and Linda haven't worked together in some time, this time around, Kozlowski feels that their working relationship seemed "incredibly comfortable", further admitting that when making the first film, she didn't dare speak out if there was something that bothered her.
Linda hopes that the third film may ignite some interest in her, and doesn't rule out a return to acting nor a fourth Dundee film "if Paul has it in him to do another one." The couple still retains their Byron Bay property.

Also in fine form for this second go 'round is the beautiful Linda Kozlowski, returning to the role she created in the original, Sue Charlton.
And-- as in the first one-- it's the on screen chemistry between Kozlowski and Hogan that really sells it; whether it's in the Australian outback or on the streets of New York City, they find the magic, and it comes through to the audience, loud and clear.
This isn't, of course, the kind of stuff that wins Oscars, but her performance is honest and convincing, and Kozlowski has a screen presence that is altogether natural and real, all of which makes the relationship between Sue and Mick all the more believable.

Crocodile Dundee comments - Peter Faiman Paul Hogan, Linda Kozlowski, John Meillon
Paul Hogan, fresh from Down Under, is so perfectly cast that it quickly becomes apparent that he's not really acting at all: this is just who he is. He plays a relaxed Aussie tracker who shows an American reporter around his native bush country, then accompanies her to her own turf in New York City.
The premise is that New York City reporter Sue Charlton (Linda Kozlowski) goes Down Under to interview the colorful crocodile poacher who lives out in the outback.
He shows her the lay of the land and does a few impressive things, including saving her life, and turns out to be as colorful as anyone could hope.

Sure, Hollywood has done the fish-out-of-water scenario to death in the last 20 years, and while this film has sufficient sport with the gimmick, it is largely driven by the principal characters and their developing love affair.
Let's face it, Paul Hogan is "The Man" as Mick Dundee; he's the guy other guys admire and want to be (whether or not they'll admit to it), and he has the kind of natural good looks, charisma and charm that is irresistible to the ladies (whether or not they'll admit to it).
In her motion picture debut, the lovely Linda Kozlowski brings some sizzle to the screen and proves to be the perfect counterpoint to co-star Hogan.

Amazon.co.uk: Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles [2001]: DVD   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
Hogan--61 when he made this--makes for an embarrassingly implausible action hero, lacquered in trowel-loads of make-up to fill in the facial creases.
The antipodean-abroad jokes are insultingly feeble; Dundee strolls into a gay bar by mistake, thinks the parking valet is a mugger, can't operate the remote control, etc. There's a cameo involving Mike Tyson that belongs nowhere and Kozlowski's performance only fuels suspicion that this is a husband and wife vanity project.
If nothing else, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles is proof that Hollywood's alleged stony-heartedness is a myth, for it can only have been out of charity and benevolence to an elderly Australian thespian down on his luck that this movie was given the green light.

The 1988 follow-up to Paul Hogan's international hit "Crocodile" Dundee is less interesting and more formulaic than the first film, while a silly suspense element about a retaliatory drug kingpin has an air of contrivance.
The story reverses the course of "Crocodile" Dundee, this time beginning in New York City and switching to the rugged bush country of Australia, where Dundee and his companion (Linda Kozlowski) run into trouble with the aforementioned villain.
Hogan's natural charm keeps the movie afloat and easy to stick with, but the production lacks all the freshness and surprise of its predecessor.
