		Linda has also been the star of four U.S. television series, "Robin's Hoods" produced by Aaron Spelling where she played Brett Robin, "Matlock" in which she played Charlene Matlock opposiste Andy Griffith, the long-running "Happy Days" opposite Henry Winkler, and the critically acclaimed "Undercover" in which she played a CIA agent along with John Rhys-Davies.
		Linda and her sister Mara grew up in Tokyo, Japan, where Linda was the only foreigner to study at the Toho Geino Academy, and where she performed "The King and I" in Japanese.
		Purl is an accomplished singer and has performed her cabaret at The Rose Tattoo, The Cinegrill, The Gardenia, and the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles, as well as at 88's and Town Hall in New York.

		Linda Purl was born September 2, 1955 in Greenwich, Connecticut and raised in Japan, and became the only foreigner to train at the Toho Geino Academy.
		Purl went to England to study under Marguerite Beale, before returning to the United States to study at the Lee Strasberg Institute, and later with Robert Lewis.

		During the 1974-75 season of Happy Days, she played the recurring role of Richie Cunningham's girlfriend, the gum chewing Gloria, and then she returned to the Happy Days set in 1982 when she was seen as Ashley Pfister, the divorced mother who won Fonzie's heart.
		Linda has won several awards during her career including "Best Song", "Best Performance" at the Tokyo Music Festival in 1974 and a Robby Award in 1981 for her portrayal of Portia in The Merchant of Venice.
