In April, Linda Riordan was selected from an all-women shortlist to replace veteran Left-winger Alice Mahon in Halifax.
Riordan’s lack of knowledge of European affairs as the reason not to endorse her.
Riordan’s non-endorsement, the Labour Party, refused to officially comment further, saying that it was an “internal issue”.

One the face of it, people might think ‘does it really matter?’ Yes, because the wider implications of this go to the heart of what is wrong with today’s railway system.
There is still time to reverse this decision and restore the national printed timetable, along with a nationalised rail system that puts the interests of passengers first.
