Former Olympic Champion Lindy Remigino, who is enjoying the Florida sun right now, still had a heavy influence on the event.
Remigino, who also runs the Greater Hartford Cross Country Meet in the fall and a bigger, outdoor version of the Hartford Public Invitational in the spring, began coaching at Hartford Public in the mid-1950's and took over the event from Amann in 1957.
This type of family effort led to a great competition and surely made Lindy Remigino proud.
