  Pacific Ocean - Line Islands
The Line Islands comprise a lengthy and loose group of low-lying, extremely remote, coral islands, atolls and reefs straddling the equator in the central Pacific Ocean.
The group forms one of the remotest island chains on Earth: the Rawaki Islands (also forming part of the nation of Kiribati) lie 1,800 km to the west, the Hawaiian Islands lie 1,600 km to the north and the Marquesas, Tuamotu Archipelago and Society Islands to the southeast and south.
The atoll of Penrhyn in the northern Cook Islands is the Line Islands nearest Central Polynesian neighbour, lying 610 km to the northwest of Vostok.

To supply the ecological baseline, we are conducting a thorough study of the ecosystems of two of the most pristine coral reefs remaining, those surrounding Palmyra atoll and Kingman reef in the Line Islands.

Islands is a well-produced magazine that's interesting to read once in a while, but far too predictable for my tastes
Many of these beaches are just as fascinating and culturally significant as the offshore islands, and many of the mainland beaches are actually better beaches than those on the islands.
They are not dreaming of a country-sized island, nor a city that you just happen to have to cross a bridge to get to.
