Line feed - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Line feed was originally a printer command normally used in conjunction with a carriage return (a command which returned the printer carriage to the leftmost position, by analogy with typewriters; abbreviated CR).
CRLF was eventually adopted as the standard line ending for network traffic, a decision which, in retrospect, is generally considered to be a mistake.
In Unix, a line feed is more often called a newline: in Unix-based operating systems, a line feed is interpreted as an instruction having the same effect on a computer terminal that CR-LF has on a printer.

Active impedance line feed circuit with improved ground fault protection - Patent 4571460
An active impedance line feed circuit as defined in claim 2 wherein the unidirectional current path comprises a unidirectional current conductive device being connected in series with the input of the ring amplifier and a resistor being connected in series between the output of the d.c.
An active impedance line feed circuit as defined in claim 4 in which a capacitor is connected between ground and a junction of the unidirectional current conductive device and the resistor.
As the line feed curent is thus limited in some of the line feed circuits in a typical group of the line feed circuits, the overall heat dissipation problem is likewise advantageously reduced.

Line (Java 2 Platform SE v1.4.2)
A line is an element of the digital audio "pipeline," such as a mixer, an input or output port, or a data path into or out of a mixer.
Certain line operations, such as open and close, can generate security exceptions if invoked by unprivileged code when the line is a shared audio resource.
Indicates whether the line is open, meaning that it has reserved system resources and is operational, although it might not currently be playing or capturing sound.

Feed Phase Center from Antenna Range Phase Measurements
In general, the feed's wavefront is not spherical, particularly near the edges of the feed's useful pattern.
If the feed's wavefront were spherical and the phase center displaced along the feed axis from the rotation axis, its measured phase should fall on a straight line when plotted as a function of (1 - cos(azimuth)).
If we define the phase center by the best-fit straight line to the data, we see that the offset between the phase center and the axis of feed rotation is -231.5 degrees (0.643 wavelengths) as given by the slope of the line.

feed line - a Whatis.com definition - see also: feedline
The line transfers radio-frequency (RF) energy from a transmitter to an antenna, and/or from an antenna to a receiver, but, if operating properly, does not radiate or intercept energy itself.
At each point along the line, the RF current in the two wires are always equal in magnitude but opposite in direction.
Parallel-wire line is rarely employed in commercial installations, but a prefabricated form, called TV ribbon, is sometimes used with television receivers in fringe areas for reception of channels 2 through 13.

The ratio of test feed to linefeed is not as bad as the 12sep04 values since this time i measured the results of the line feed.
The test feed is a warm receiver while the line feed measurement used long range receiver 1 (which is supposed to be cooled).
Since the horn is positioned close to Radius/2, the half angle of the feed is close to twice the za measured from the center of curvature (see linefeed phase a=90-2*za).

Within a line, the inline-progression for characters is based on the current glyph orientation, the metrics of the glyph just rendered, kerning tables in the font, and the current values of various attributes and properties, such as the spacing properties.
A preserved line feed character (either from the source content or from occurrence of "\A" in generated content) is maintained for presentation purpose and may therefore influence text wrapping.
The behavior of these inserted line feed characters is identical to original line feed characters part of the source document and is controlled by the same set of properties.

Telephone line feed - Patent 4431869
In a telephone line feeding arrangement, the line current is monitored by a multi-resistor network (R.sub.p R.sub.s) and the output of the network applied to the inputs of an operational amplifier (A3).
A disadvantage of a fixed constant current line feed from the exchange battery is that it only operates satisfactorily over a limited range of loop resistance, which is reached at 1500 ohms with 32 mA and a 45 volt battery.
The voltage supplied from this monitor circuit, which is proportional to the line voltage, is applied to the inputs of an operational amplifier A3, whose voltage output is therefore proportional to the current flowing in the subscriber loop.

In most cases, once a transmission line and antenna have been installed on a tower, little thought is given them until something goes wrong.
A bag of cable ties or a box of Wraplock in the tower rigger's pouch is deemed sufficient to secure the line to the tower.
Most radio engineers have seen transmission line installations where little more than electrical tape or cable ties were used to secure the line.

The balun is placed at the output of the tuner and the lower end of the feed line.

11.9 : FILE RECORD FORMAT   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
If the file is implied carriage control (the standard RSX-11 source format) or Fortran carriage control, TECO inserts a carriage return and line feed after each record to make each record appear as a line of text in the buffer, unless the record ends with ESCAPE, carriage return, line feed, vertical tab, or form feed.
A record ending in form feed is interpreted as an end of page mark; it stops the read operation and the form feed is not entered in the buffer.
The carriage return and line feed are also output with the record if the record ends with ESCAPE / carriage return / line feed.

(WO 00/73645) PULSATING GAS LINE FEED DEVICE   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
The supply of pulsating air into a line system results in the emission of noise due to the propagation of pulsation in the air flow to be guided and to excitation of the air-guiding components.
This should be dampened as effectively as possible without unnecessarily increasing pressure losses by throttling the gas flow to be fed. This is achieved by a line feed device (24) having a supply cross section (15) and a line cross section (13), wherein an air-permeable separating wall is embodied between said cross sections.
The line feed device can be used, for instance, in an admission system for internal combustion engines (28), whereby said line feed device makes it possible to recirculate compressed air through a recirculation line (29) between the air filter (23) and the compressor (21).

de:Line feed In computing, line feed is one of control characters in ASCII that is used to move printer or display one line down.
Line feed often follows carriage return to indicate a new line for example, in the Microsoft Windows operating system.
In some environments, such as UNIX, carriage return is omitted and only line feed indicates a new line.
