The Linguaphiles are a group of students in the University of Oklahoma's Spring 2005 section of EIPT 3043: Learning with Educational Technologies.
The word "Linguaphile" means "A lover of languages." As we are all studying to teach a language of some sort, we felt this was an appropriate name.
Members of the Linguaphiles include Eileen Sullivan, Gladys Sands, Ashlie Taylor, and J Michael Lang.

You have the telltale signs of a linguaphile, Sean--interest in the obscure, outlier words of a language, the hutzpah to read esoteric volumes in public places that you probably wouldn't be caught dead reading in a similar locale in the States.
Being a linguaphile is actually not a bad thing.
It also helps that I have a forgiving girlfriend who is willing to forgive my vain attempts to use such language in casual conversation (I assume Atsushi is similarly generous whenever you make a register or idiomatic slip).

I heard from fellow linguaphile Viktoro about a proposed bill in the Philippine House of Representatives which seeks to make Tagalog as the medium of instruction in schools.
The bill's authors said use of the national language in the country's schools would better promote love of Filipino.
