I've been searching for a decent text web browser to run on old handheld systems with 21 x 16 character displays, and ELinks seems to be a good candidate.
Links uses callback mode to manage most actions - when we want to (for example) make connection, we call function make_connection and pass pointer to functions that will be called when the connection is ready.

If you were referred here from a web site bearing the "Viewable With Any Browser" themed graphic or text, it means that the site author agrees with the campaign and is participating in the effort to discourage browser specific web design.

Twibright Labs Links is a freely available and open-source Web browser that can be used in both a graphical and a text mode.
Links version 2.0pre4 is vulnerable to a buffer overflow caused by improper bounds checking of 16-bit PNG images.
By creating a Web page that contains an overly large PNG image, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the victim's computer or cause the computer to crash, once the page is viewed.
